Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette Packaging and Palette
Yay! My first review, how very exciting. Let me start by saying that, I had been holding out on buying this palette because well.. $65 is expensive for an eyeshadow palette. I passed up buying this Limited Edition palette while it was in stock, and when I had decided “okay, I’m going to buy it now!” It was out of stock. Of course. By now, I had convinced myself that I needed it. I added myself to the “email when back in stock” list, and constantly lurked Huda’s Instagram waiting for any sign it would be available. After about two months of painstakingly waiting, I received an email saying it was back in stock. I jumped onto the Huda Beauty website, added it to my cart anddd.. it took about an hour and a half to order. The site kept crashing, and I was having a mini panic attack. I mean, I had to have it, right? It seemed everyone was trying to buy it as soon as it had been restocked. During my frantic wait time, I somehow managed to add two Liquid Matte Mini sets to my cart too (I’ll review and swatch those soon!) This actually worked out well because the shipping was $20 if I didn’t spend over $75. And yes, I needed two lip sets.. I was kind of spoiling myself for getting a new job. It shipped rather quickly which surprised me because it shipped from Dubai. I was worried that it would arrive broken, but it arrived packaged very well in multiple bags with bubble wrap. I was extremely thankful for that! I think I received it in three days once shipped, and I had changed the address once during transit because I was on a mini vacation, and of course wanted the palette ASAP!

So! On to the good stuff..

It is beautiful, and I’m slightly obsessed. The Rose Gold Textured Palette comes with eighteen (18) pans for a total of 0.63oz of product which actually is not bad compared to other palettes I own. Especially when the quality is there! Inside you will find six (6) Metal shades, two (2) Chromatics, and ten (10) Matte shades. The versatility makes it a lot of fun to create & experiment, and the warm neutrals are great to do quick & easy daily looks with. Both which, I find very attractive when deciding on buying a palette. For more involved looks, you can add pops of colour, and I find myself using the Metals more than I thought I would! The palette is packaged in cardboard and a clear thin plastic screen which I wasn’t exactly thrilled about. It made the palette seem cheap at first compared to others on the market. I like the style of packaging they used, but they could have done better on materials. It obviously wasn’t an extreme deterrent for me, but it may be for someone who is expecting extravagant packaging for buying a high-end brand. I honestly don’t think that you should let it be a reason to sway you. You’ll wear it more than you look at it!

Before applying, I would recommend laying down a thin layer of eyeshadow primer, or concealer. I use concealer as it helps brighten and even my skin tone and help diminish dark circles. It also helps show the true shade of the pigment. I didn’t really concern myself with the texture of the Mattes once I applied them. Despite some feeling a bit chalky, they blended out really nicely which is more important to me than anything else. I maybe have a heavy hand.. (It’s horrible, I know.. but I’m working on it!) So the Chromatics are really beautiful, and the pigmentation is nearly perfect. They are smooth and buttery, and have my favourite texture of the palette. Lastly, the Metallics are really something else. They are foiled press pigments with an interesting texture. It’s a bit creamy while not completely smooth, and I would definitely recommend using your finger to dab onto the lid to apply if you want the more foiled look. You can always use a flat eyeshadow brush for a more precise application as well. I also like to add a tiny spot of concealer, and blend it out before I apply the Chromatics or Metal shades. I feel that it gives the shadow a little more to adhere to make them pop.

My favourites so far are Angelic, Bae, Henna, Moon Dust, Rose Gold & Sandalwood. They standout to me because they are in colour groups that I use the most. I also really love Maneater because it has that extra pop of warm colour that I love for more dramatic looks. It is a perfect shade of red for me. I plan on swatching the entire palette soon!

Overall, I love the Rose Gold Textured Palette. I think the variety of colours, textures, shades, and versatility made it very worth while for me. My only complaints are the packaging, and that the palette is Limited Edition; because I would definitely buy it again!

You can purchase the Rose Gold Textured Shadows Palette on HUDA BEAUTY for $65. I would advise that you buy it ASAP if you are very interested in it because it seems to sell out in waves! Do you own it? Want to buy it? Let me know your thoughts on it!
